Our Guarantee
All KP Engineering products are covered by a 3-year guarantee against defects in fabrication and workmanship, including the integrity of welding.
Where installation is carried out by KP Engineering, the guarantee also covers the workmanship of our installation.
Where a defect covered by this guarantee is identified, KP Engineering will, at our discretion, repair or rectify the defective workmanship or repair or replace the faulty part or product supplied.
Our guarantee applies to defects arising from our fabrication and installation workmanship. It does not cover normal wear and tear, or damage, movement or defects caused by factors outside our control.
Finishes & Maintenance
We use established specialist suppliers for galvanising, powder coating and other finishing processes. These treatments are selected to provide a durable and protective finish suitable for external metalwork, and in our experience our finishes perform very well in normal conditions.
As these specialist finishing processes are carried out by independent third-party suppliers, the long-term performance and appearance of the finish are outside the scope of our workmanship guarantee. Finishes are therefore excluded from our guarantee. This does not indicate that we expect the finish to fail, but reflects the nature of the specialist finishing processes and factors outside our control.
As with any external metalwork, the finish may be affected over time by exposure to weather, normal use or accidental damage. We recommend regular cleaning and basic maintenance to help preserve the appearance and protective properties of the finish.
Where necessary, any minor damage to the finish should be cleaned, prepared and appropriately touched up or re-treated as part of normal maintenance.
Structural Movement
Our guarantee does not cover movement, distortion or damage resulting from changes to the ground, building or supporting structure after installation.
This includes, but is not limited to:
- Subsidence or settlement of the ground
- Ground movement caused by tree roots
- Movement or settlement of walls, pillars or other supporting structures
- Movement caused by changes in temperature, including thermal expansion and contraction
- Other structural movement or changes outside of KP Engineering’s control
Where a product is affected by movement of the surrounding ground, wall, pillar or supporting structure, this is not considered a fabrication or installation workmanship defect and is therefore excluded from the guarantee.
Supply-Only Products
Where a product is supplied by KP Engineering but installation is carried out by a third party, the guarantee covers defects in the fabrication and workmanship of the product supplied only. KP Engineering cannot accept responsibility for installation workmanship carried out by others.
Bespoke Products & Cancellation
As our metalwork is manufactured to each client’s individual specifications, bespoke orders may be cancelled only before drawings are approved and raw materials are ordered.
Once drawings have been approved and raw materials have been ordered from our suppliers, the order cannot be cancelled, as materials may have been purchased specifically for the customer’s project.
Any cancellation before this point may be subject to a cancellation charge, depending on work already undertaken. Any applicable refund will be calculated accordingly from the deposit paid.
Cancellation does not affect your statutory rights.
